What is an online alarm clock?
This page shows your device's time to the second in large digits, and lets you set an alarm on the same page. It's ideal when you're at your computer and want a reminder for a meeting, a class or your medicine without picking up your phone.
The clock shows today's date and weekday too. Switch between 12-hour and 24-hour format, or go fullscreen and use it as a desk clock. There's no app to download and no account to create.
How to set an alarm
- Pick a time: type it in the "Alarm time" box, or use the "+5 minutes", "+30 minutes" or "+1 hour" buttons to set a time from now.
- Add a label: type something like "Meeting" or "Medicine". It appears on screen when the alarm rings.
- Choose a sound: pick one of six alarm sounds, press ▶ to hear it and set the volume.
- Repeat every day: tick this for a daily alarm, such as a morning alarm.
- Set alarm: the alarm is added to "My alarms" and shows how long until it rings. Switch it off or delete it from the list.
What happens when the alarm rings
At the alarm time your sound plays for one minute and the time and label appear in the middle of the screen. Press Stop to silence it, or Snooze 5 min to have it ring again in five minutes. Daily alarms are set again for the next day; one-time alarms switch off.
Your alarms are saved in this browser, so the list is still there when you come back. Browsers only allow sound after you click on a page, so after reopening it, click once. The page reminds you if needed.
What people use it for
- Remembering a meeting, class or call while working at the computer.
- Medicine times, break reminders or drinking water.
- A "+30 min" alarm for a power nap.
- A big fullscreen digital clock for a classroom, office or live stream.
- Answering "what time is it?" to the second, based on your device's clock.
Making sure the alarm rings
- You can switch tabs: the alarm sound is scheduled in advance and plays on time. Just don't close this tab.
- If your computer or phone goes to sleep, the alarm may not ring. Keep "Keep the screen on" enabled and plug in your laptop.
- For critical alarms like waking up in the morning, also set your phone's alarm.
- The clock follows your device's time. If the device clock is wrong, the alarm follows it.
