Privacy policy

This policy explains what information is processed when you use webtoolsme.com and the WebToolsMe widgets embedded on other websites.

Last updated: October 22, 2026

In short

  • There are no accounts; we don't ask for your name or email address.
  • We don't show ads. To count visits to this site we use the GNRCounter visitor counter; widgets on other sites don't include it.
  • The widget stores a visitor's chosen city only in that visitor's browser.

Server logs

For every request to webtoolsme.com or to a widget, our hosting server may technically record the IP address, browser details, the requested address, the referring page and the time. These logs are used only to run the service, prevent abuse and fix errors; they are not sold or shared with third parties.

Widgets on other websites

When a page with a WebToolsMe widget is viewed, the visitor's browser loads the widget file and weather data from webtoolsme.com. The technical information above reaches our server during this request.

If the site owner allows it, visitors can change the city in the widget. The chosen city is stored in the visitor's browser (localStorage) for that site only, so the same city is shown on the next visit. This is not a cookie and is not stored on our server. It can be removed by clearing the browser's site data.

Weather data

Weather forecasts come from the Norwegian Meteorological Institute (MET Norway). Our server, not the visitor's browser, connects to MET Norway and sends only the city's coordinates. No visitor information is shared with MET Norway.

Third parties

Fonts and other files are served from our own server; Google Fonts is not used. The only external service on webtoolsme.com pages is the GNRCounter visitor counter (gnrcounter.com), which receives technical information such as the IP address, browser and the page visited in order to count visits. It is not part of the widgets.

Your rights

For questions or requests about your personal data, including your rights under the GDPR, write to [email protected].

This policy may be updated as the service evolves. The current version is always on this page.
